This is definitely a hole in the wall and St. Pete's best authentic Mexican food. The place is nothing fancy and everything is served in Styrofoam, but the food is AMAZING and the service is great. We've had a variety of things on their menu and it never disappoints. I'm pretty sure I could eat their tamales every day. And at 3 bucks a piece, we eat a lot of them! A
Better hours then everyone else an this place kills it. Being from out west I was after a true Mexican style taco an these are so good! The Verde is super tasty an the rojo has enough heat you don't want to over do it! This place is a vibe with the grab your own beer.
Look they’ve been here for YEARS. Literally. And I’ve been coming here since about the time they first opened. (Before all the tables, and things got nicer, it was legit a little hole in the wall) and even though I live all the way out in WINTER HAVEN, I still come here just for the tacos. As far as street tacos go, they’re the best I’ve had around, and I’ve been to quite a few places/stands. In comparison to the street tacos I had in Tijuana, Chile verde has the best. I can’t speak for the other food, but the tacos are never bad. Always fresh, the workers are always kind, and I get my food in an extremely timely manner even if they’re busy. If I want tacos, this is where I go, and I’ll drive over an hour to do it.
From the outside you might not know there's the best authentic Mexican food being cooked and served inside. I can't get enough of their food and Mexican goodies I can't find everywhere. They've expanded seating inside, after you order grab a drink of your pleasure from one of the coolers. Don't pass up, as you walk in....look left. There's a refrigerated display of authentic Mexican deserts....grab 2 of whatever they have...you'll thank me. They'll make what you want; like the veggie hard tacos, no cheese for me to a full blown Torta, which is huge! If you want real Mexican.....don't pass this by cuz there's 2 life-size horses by the front door; step in.
I came here hungry. Very hungry. I had a vegan chimichanga and a veggie Mexican style taco. I was so hungry and I was so immediately enamored I truly don't even know how I stopped to take a photo of my partially eaten chimichanga. Everything was piping hot when delivered to us, tasted very fresh, and the hot sauce at the table was good. The potatoes and cauliflower were well seasoned and cooked to perfection. To address the plant based menu, I wish there were veg-friendly beans or protein in the veg options but it's still delicious as is and I understand that it'd be difficult to have a whole other ingredient in stock. I was so excited to see that this place had options for me and I would be here all the time if it wasn't over 2 hours from where I live.

This is the best local authentic Mexican spot in the St Pete area. Everything is delicious, the prices are great and they take really good care of you to make sure you have everything you need to enjoy your meal. Make sure you try the horchata and the tres leche cake
